‘Cortney Dixon is South Shields answer to Blondie with her fun garage punk pop’
- Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music
‘I can't get enough of Cortney Dixon 'Stop This Party'... I really, really like this track. It's got hints of Haim and Wolf Alice. The indie guitar pop I just needed tonight on the show.’ - Gemma Bradley, BBC Radio 1 Introducing.
“I’m getting proper Strokes-y vibes on the guitars on that track. Obviously a future indie anthem and a half!’ - Emily Pilbeam, Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music Mixtape
Cortney Dixon is a powerhouse artist, producer, songwriter, and guitarist delivering fierce glam-punk energy with sharp pop sensibilities. From the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2025 to nine SXSW showcases in Austin, TX, the South Shields-born artist blends raw DIY grit with infectious hooks, fuzzy riffs, and fearless storytelling that turns pain into power.
Her self-produced EP ‘Hazard A Guess’ was released in October on digital and 12" vinyl, followed by two sold-out launch shows in Newcastle and a UK/European support tour with Du Blonde. Inspired by Blondie’s sass, Wet Leg’s edge, Wolf Alice’s grit, and Kate Bush’s artistry, Cortney creates a full glam experience - music, DIY fashion, and bold self-produced visuals on her own terms. Having shared stages with the likes of Johnny Marr, Master Peace and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, she’s heading into an exciting 2026, currently recording her debut album due for release later this year.
